Rare set of 8 Hamilton rosewood dining chairs for bespoke upholstery
A wonderful and seldom seen set of 8 solid rosewood Hamilton dining chairs designed by Robert Heritage for Archie Shine c.1957. The set features 6 standard and 2 carvers and are offered to market for bespoke upholstery of your choice - the last picture shows how stunning these chairs look when restored and correctly upholstered. The price includes full restoration of the frames, all new webbing, foam and labour but excludes fabric. As seen the restored rosewood on these examples is wonderful featuring a rich mixture of colour (from blacks, browns and chocolate orange), vivid grain and depth that makes rosewood such a prized timber. Still hugely under-rated these chairs are all about very subtle angles and shapes - the result is one of the most distinctive chair designs of the period and one of Heritages most sophisticated and elegant designs.
