Rare 'Coulsdon' chair by William Plunkett c.1964
Rarely available ‘Coulsdon’ chair c.1964 designed by William Plunkett for William Plunkett Ltd featuring a wonderful semi-circular frame constructed from square section polished steel bar with a tub-shaped cantilevered seat with all new foam and finished in a soft lemon yellow 100% wool from Abraham Moon. (samples available on request as the photos make it look a bit peachy - it is a soft yellow!). A wonderful design that was most notably used in the bars of the QE2 in 1969. An extremely well made and very stylish statement chair in wonderful condition, the original polished frame does have some light pitting as you’d expect but presents very well having been lightly cleaned and polished.
