A fabulous pair of very early production (white tag label) C2 Jason chairs designed by Carl Jacobs for Kandya c.1953. Sourced from the original owners family this pair had been loft stored for at least 30 years. Carefully cleaned the pair present wonderfully - no nasty damage or stress fractures to the plywood - I’ve never seen such good original examples before. Fabulous patina with some light staining, dings, nibbles and scratches - 30 years hidden in the loft has really helped preserve these near 70 year old examples. Solid beech legs with formed plywood shells faced in beech to the rear and the desirable sapele (mahogany) to the front. The Jason chair was also designed to stack and is widely regarding as a classic of the period and whilst it remained in production until the end of the 60’s these early examples are now seldom seen. Be quick as these won’t hang around for long!
