A hugely under appreciated design by Trevor Chinn for Gordon Russell Ltd - simple, elegant and functional its a classic British design first produced in the late 50’s. This example features solid mahogany trim and tapering legs with a contrasting quarter cut Indian laurel top that is wonderfully coloured and figured. The top has been fully stripped and newly lacquer finished as per original and presents beautifully with just the odd tiny mark. The mahogany legs have been oil finished - one of the leg stretchers does have an honest historic repair (that is 100% solid) that can only be seen from the underside (see last pic) A wonderful example of this British classic finished in a rare combination of materials.
