Stunning large mahogany chest of drawers c.1957
An exceptional and very rarely seen mahogany chest of drawers designed by Ward & Austin for Loughborough Furniture c.1957 - this example was retailed in Heals and retains its original label. In near perfect professionally restored condition and lacquer finished the piece features richly figured and coloured mahogany throughout and is wonderfully detailed with the two largest drawers finished in alternate strips of Honduras and African Mahogany creating a pinstripe effect - the overall impact of this piece is very special with three slim drawers along the top and two huge drawers (with central runners for additional support) all finished with solid brass trumpet handles. Could be used either in the bedroom or as an alternative to a sideboard - an exceptional piece of British design and craftsmanship - just beautiful! Try and find another.
