Rare Tuan armchair by Howard Keith c.1954 in mustard

£995.00

A fabulous and extremely rare Tuan armchair by Howard Keith c.1954 finished in a textured mustard fabric. The Tuan armchair and sofas were produced in the early 50’s and feature a distinctive curved arm, a full width (floating) buttoned back that is stitched in place and angled, tapered legs with a routed detail to the front and rear faces. This example was sourced from the family of the original owner and was purchased in late 1953 / early 1954. HK pieces retailed at top end department stores including Harrods, Heals and Maple & Co. , they are constructed to a very high standard with solid beech framing throughout and are also extremely comfortable. The original legs have been lightly restored and polished and do have a few light dings and scuffs as you’d expect from a 70 year old chair. The chair has been fully restored with all new foam and is finished in a lovely textured mustard yellow very similar to the original fabric.

Approx dimensions - 83cm height x 81cm depth x 81cm width. Height to seat 42cm. Seat tapers from the front face 54cm to back 44cm.
