Loughborough Furniture chest of six drawers c.1959
Simple, elegant, functional and beautifully executed - this wonderful chest of six drawers was designed by Neville Ward & Frank Austin for Loughborough Furniture c.1959 and retailed at top department stores such as Heals of London. The Loughborough Cabinet Company were a low volume, top quality manufacturer of the 50’s and early 60’s producing some wonderful pieces mostly designed by Ward & Austin. The chest is constructed in a richly figured and coloured muteneye (olive walnut) and is wonderfully proportioned and subtly detailed with 6 generously sized drawers and solid brass handles. A very high quality piece in wonderful restored condition with just the odd tiny ding and mark.
