A beautiful and rarely available ‘Hanover’ sideboard by Robert Heritage for Archie Shine in wonderful restored condition in a striking combination of mahogany with rosewood fronted drawers and cupboards finished with brass trumpet handles. The ‘Hanover’ is the baby brother of the much more commonly seen ‘Hamilton’ sideboard and was designed c.1957. The cupboards open to reveal a single (removable) solid mahogany shelf. This example features some vibrant figuring to both the mahogany and rosewood and the overall impact is very special. Fully restored the exterior has been stripped and newly lacquer finished (as per original) and is inwonderful condition with just the odd tiny mark and one small area of historic repair. An outstanding piece of mid-century design and craftsmanship.
