Hamilton Indian laurel and mahogany drinks cabinet c.1957
Absolutely stunning and scarcely seen ‘Hamilton’ wine / drinks cabinet designed by Robert Heritage for Archie Shine in a striking combination of richly figured Indian laurel and mahogany with brass detailing, in outstanding restored condition. A beautiful piece of mid century British design normally seen in teak / rosewood combinations this was probably a special order item and the only example I’ve ever seen in this combination of materials with all exterior surfaces being finished in Indian laurel. The piece features a large double cupboard to the base, full width reed fronted drawer whilst the top cupboards open to reveal a fully fitted interior, with a mirrored back, glass shelf and sliding (formica covered) drinks shelf with an opaque glass cover to the rear. One of the most elegant drinks cabinets of the period fully restored and newly lacquer finished (as per original) the piece presents in near perfect condition.
