Mahogany chest of three drawers c.1954
Mahogany chest of three drawers c.1954
A striking fully restored mahogany chest of three drawers by J. Groag by Loughborough Furniture. Part of a previously unknown modular unit furniture range designed in c.1954 - this is the first piece from this range I’ve ever seen. Sourced from the family of the original owner this piece was purchased in 1955, matching vanity unit is also available. Lovely detailing throughout with solid mahogany handles, routed detailing to the front face with a kicking front leg the piece is wonderfully constructed and finished. Presented in excellent restored condition - incredible rich natural lustre with some very small dings and veneer repairs to a couple of the drawer fronts but the rich colour is very forgiving and these can only be seen on very close inspection.
91.5cm width x 46cm depth x 71.5cm height / 3 drawers internal - 84.5cm width x 37cm depth x 13.5cm height.
