A wonderful example of a rarely seen Salisbury range bedhead finished in richly figured mahogany and rosewood designed by Robert Heritage for Archie Shine c.1958. Sourced from the family of the original owner (please see matching chest and dressing table) this generously proportioned piece has been fully restored and newly lacquer finished (as per original) - just the odd ding and an historic repair to the left hand edge of the left side bedside carcass - only visible on close inspection. The bedhead is veneered in a rich Bombay rosewood with a routed mahogany edge while the bedside are made from both solid and veneered mahogany with some lovely figuring and solid reeded drawer with the signature brass trumpet handles and elegant mahogany turned legs. The overall impact is really wonderful. Perfectly proportioned for use with a UK standard size double bed.
Bedhead overall size - 229cm length x 102cm height / Bedsides 40.5cm length x 30.5cm depth x 63cm height. Internal drawer measures 34.5cm length x 26.5cm depth x 5.5cm height. Space between bedsides 145.5cm.
