A fabulous late 1950’s / possibly early 60’s five drawer chest of drawers by an unknown hand - most probably a home-made / apprentice piece. The carcass, drawer fronts, turned handles and legs are all constructed from richly figured and coloured solid American black walnut. The carcass features exposed dovetail joints on the top corners and the drawers are mounted on a combination of solid oak and yet more walnut. Wonderful proportions with a graduating set of very spacious drawers and elegant legs. Fully restored the piece presents beautifully with a rich lustre and depth of colour with just the odd ding and mark only visible on very, very close inspection.
