Lebetkin Brothers tola, black and brass tallboy
Lebetkin Brothers tola, black and brass tallboy
A striking and lovely quality tallboy by Lebetkin Brothers Ltd of London from the early 1960’s in near perfect fully restored condition with just the odd tiny ding and mark only visible on very, very close inspection. Finished in a richly figured and coloured African tola with brass detailing and solid beech ebonised legs complete with period correct metal glides. Subtly styled with a routed face on the drawer fronts with elegant brass handles the overall impact is really lovely. The tallboy features a generous cupboard with fully adjustable / removable full width shelf and four full width drawers all constructed from a combination of solid mahogany and mahogany veneer on the interior. A striking piece of design and quality craftsmanship from this small London maker / retailer who ceased trading c.1966. This particular piece also retains its Maple & Co. retail label on the inside cupboard door.
