A rare and incredibly elegant ‘President’ chair by Robin Day for Hille c.1957 in wonderful restored condition with vibrant yellow velvet upholstery. Produced as an executives desk or boardroom chair this is a scarcely seen piece. Agruably Days most Scandinanvian influenced design the chair has clear echoes of designs by Juhl, Vodder and Larsen. Its a beautifully executed design with very subtle angles, curves and tapers to the frame and seat with wonderful detailing. Constructed from solid makore (a very dense, richly coloured African hardwood) with all new foam and finished in a vibrant yellow velvet - a simply stunning chair.
